Vestry |
 |
|
|
The Vestry is comprised of men who have been called out for a specific kind of
lay leadership in our community. These men are servant leaders who, alongside
the Rector, serve to give direction to ministry, oversee stewardship of resources,
seek out ways to carry the gospel to the community and the world and care for the
congregation spiritually and physically.
The term vestry originated in Great Britain, and referred to the room next
to the nave (main body) of the church where the sacred vessels and vestments were
kept. Those conducting parish business met in this room and came to be known as
the vestry.
